Another success story for the Cedartown Police’s K-9 Kai as he helped county police in the apprehension of a suspect who fled the scene on foot after a pursuit on Highway 278 West early Tuesday morning.
According to Cedartown Police Reports, Sergeant Jon Zuker and K-9 Kai were called to the area of Berry Road and Highway 278 were the fleeing vehicle had struck a utility pole. K-9 Kai was able to pick up a trail and tracked down one of the suspects, who was hiding in a kudzu thicket.
35-year-old Kevin Norton of Bremen was arrested by county police on charges including fleeing or attempting to elude, laying drag, and eventually it was determined the vehicle was stolen from out of state.
A second suspect, whose identity was not immediately known, was not located.
