Cedartown Police were called to a Russell Street residence Tuesday evening to the report of someone being shot.
According to reports, officers were dispatched by Polk 911 at around 7:00 PM Tuesday to a Russell Street residence on the report that a female victim had been shot by two masked individuals who broke down here front door.
When police arrived, they located the victim in the floor with a gunshot wound to the upper thigh. She was soon transported by Redmond EMS to an area hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. She was later released.
Cedartown Police say they would be interested in speaking to a person of interest in the case but do not have enough evidence to support any warrants being issued.
Detectives did not find any sign of forced entry at the residence.
Police say this incident is in no way connected to any other open investigation or incident by the Cedartown Police Department or any other agency.
