Rain proved to be a major factor in the plans for the season opener for the Cedartown High School Lady Dawgs softball team.
The Lady Dawgs were set to take on the Cass Lady Colonels in a non-region tilt on the diamond Monday afternoon following the first day of school for Polk County students.
Heavy rains and the threat for severe weather forced Coach Jessica Sanders to postpone the game to Wednesday afternoon.
The Lady Dawgs will take on the Lady Colonels, this time at Cass High School on Wednesday, August 12 at 5:30 PM.
Cedartown will take part in an exhibition tournament this weekend before returning to action next Monday at Bowdon High School.
