An investigation by Cedartown Police into the theft of some of their lawn care equipment has resulted in the arrest of a Polk County man on theft charges.
According to records, a parks and cemetery work crew was cutting grass at the Polk County Historical Society building on South College Street.
When one of the workers when to the truck to get some additional equipment, he noticed that a gas powered blower was missing.
An investigation by Polk County Police found that the suspect lived on Cave Spring Road.
County officers arrested 49-year-old Donald Eugene Nichols on a charge of felony theft by taking.
According to Polk County Jail records, Nichols is also facing charges of first degree burglary and theft by reception.
He remains in jail today without bond.
