UPDATE:
A Cedartown man was fatally shot Wednesday night and police have arrested a man on a murder charge.
According to Polk County Deputy Coroner Tony Brazier, Cedartown Police responded to multiple calls of shots being fired in the Woodlawn/Fair Oaks subdivision.
Officers and emergency responders located 40-year-old Michael Stephen Robinson laying on his back the roadway next to a Nissan Pathfinder near the 300 block of Woodlawn Drive.
“Redmond EMS transported Robinson to Polk Medical Center where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday night,” Brazier said.
Cedartown Police arrested 40-year-old John Jones of a Fair Oaks Rd. address on a charge of felony murder.
“We are dealing with a homicide here,” said Brazier. “The body of the victim has been sent to the GBI Crime Lab where an autopsy will be performed either today or tomorrow.”
Cedartown Police are continuing their investigation into the alleged homicide.

Cedartown Police arrested a man on murder charges early this morning.
Polk County Jail records say that 40-year-old John Jones of 231 Fair Oaks Rd. in Cedartown was arrested at 4:29 this morning on a charge of felony murder.
No other details on the arrest were available.
