Polk County Police arrested a Cedartown man after he allegedly locked a woman in a bedroom against her will, during a domestic incident.
According to a police report, Polk County Police, along with Cedartown Police and Polk County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a Pine Pitch Road residence where a man was arguing with his estranged wife.
According to police, the suspect locked the victim in a room and then fled when police arrived.
After pursuing the suspect for a time, he was finally taken into custody.
Police charged 32-year-old Marieo Shauntoyas Sims with felony counts of kidnapping, false imprisonment, terroristic threats and acts, and aggravated stalking.
He was additionally charged with misdemeanor cruelty to children third degree, battery, criminal trespass, and five counts of obstruction of a police officer.
Sims remains in the Polk County Jail this morning without bond.
