Bartow County authorities are investigating a fire at a Rydal residence that also reportedly damaged some chicken houses. Reports state that a man responded to an automated alarm early Saturday when the temperature in his chicken houses was too high. When the man arrived at his residence, a trailer, two chicken houses, and a storage shed were on fire. The man also observed that a motorcycle had been stolen from the storage shed. Fire department officials say that one of the chicken houses was a total loss and that most of the chickens were lost in the blaze. Police are suspecting that this fire was arson. No suspects have been arrested at this time.
