Cedartown Police responded to a domestic disturbance call early Wednesday and arrested a man on numerous charges related to the incident.
According to police reports, officers arrived at a Melissa Lane residence and located three individuals in a nearby field.
The female victim was found with a bloody nose, bruises on her neck, and her shirt soaked in blood.
An argument reportedly began when the victim tried to get the suspect to stay home from work because he was intoxicated.
He then became violent and allegedly slapped her in the face and attempted to choke her by the neck.
She was transported to Polk Medical Center to be treated for her injuries.
Cedartown Police arrested 29-year-old Abraim Ramez of a Melissa Lane apartment on charges of aggravated assault and battery, both under the family violence act.
Ramez remains in the Polk County Jail this morning without bond.
