An altercation at a Park Street residence Tuesday morning has resulted in charges being filed against a Cedartown man.
According to an incident report, Cedartown Police responded to 427 Park Street just after 11:30 Tuesday morning to the report of someone threatening to kill another person.
The victim stated to police that the suspect entered the home and tried to pull another female victim out of the house.
When the man tried to get between the suspect and the female victim, he was allegedly struck on the head with a brick.
The man then struck the suspect with a wooden board in what he claimed as self defense.
After being treated and released from Polk Medical Center, 72-year-old Thomas Roosevelt Whatley was arrested by Cedartown Police on a charge of felony aggravated assault.
He remains in the Polk County Jail without bond.
