A nasty wreck on Highway 27 in front of Georgia Highlands College early Sunday evening has claimed the life of a Rockmart woman.
According to Floyd County Deputy Coroner Ernie Studard, 31-year-old Jessica Dawn Graham was driving northbound when her Nissan Pathfinder SUV left the roadway and rammed into the large Georgia Highlands College sign just off of the northbound side of the road.
Traffic heading north on Highway 27 had to be shifted over to the center turning lane as crews worked to clear the scene.
Studard pronounced Graham dead on the scene at approximately 7:45 PM Sunday.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
