Suspect sought in Rockmart convenience store robbery

Rockmart Police are searching for the man who robbed a local convenience store early Sunday morning. Detective David Gowens of the RPD said the Mapco store, formerly known as Fast Food Fuel, on Highway 101 was robbed around 3:30 Sunday morning. The suspect was described by the store clerk as a black male. He reportedly used a knife to threaten the clerk. The robber stole $50 from the cash register, Gowens said.
