Local authorities are reminding drivers and pedestrians in the “holiday rush” to use extra caution outside local retailers. This after a Tallapoosa woman holding her infant was struck by an automobile outside a Carrollton plaza mall Saturday. The injured woman told Carrollton Police that she saw the vehicle approaching but could not move fast enough to get out of its way. The victim was struck from behind and clutched her baby boy as she fell to the ground, while the vehicle reportedly rolled over her leg causing a compound-fracture above her ankle. Carrollton Police found the driver at fault in this case and the infant boy was reportedly unharmed.
