A fuel pump at an area convenience store was struck and dislodged from its base early Monday afternoon. According to reports, Polk 911 received the initial call at around 3:25 p.m. Monday and both Cedartown Fire and Police were dispatched to the Fleet convenience store on East Avenue in Cedartown. Officials say that no fuel leaked from the busted pump and that no injuries resulted from the accident. Gas station employees had to shut off all pumps until the scene was secured and that the threat of gas escaping was eliminated. Police taped the area off while crews worked to clean up the mess. No details of who hit the pumps or whether any charges will be filed.
