One person had to be airlifted to the hospital late Sunday night after a traffic accident on the Cedartown Bypass near its intersection the Hwy 278 ramp and East Avenue.
According to reports from the Cedartown Police Department, a Chrysler 300 sedan attempted to turn left on the Hwy. 278 off-ramp when it was struck by a Toyota Camry headed southbound.
The Toyota then veered off of the highway and into the ditch.
The driver of the Toyota was transported to Floyd Medical Center and was last listed in serious but stable condition. The passenger of the Toyota was seriously injured and airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and was last listed in critical condition.
The driver and passenger of the Chrysler were not seriously injured.
The driver of the Chrysler was cited for failure to yield while turning left.
