Traffic was blocked in both directions on Rockmart Road for a time after a wreck that occurred around 1:15 p.m. near the 101 Tobacco Mart. The wreck involved a white Ford F150, a tan Chevrolet Silverado and a red Chevrolet Silverado. At least two of the vehicles were heavily damaged, and the tan Silverado caught fire. According to Trooper Cochran of the Georgia State Patrol, Lloyd Ashley of Silver Creek, driving the tan Silverado, rear-ended the F150, driven by Joel Sewell of Rockmart. Sewell was then pushed into Craig Jones of Lindale. Sewell and Ashley, along with a child who was in the F150, were transported to the hospital. Cochran said the injuries did not appear severe. Traffic started to clear in the southbound lanes by around 1:45 p.m. and the scene was cleared by around 2 p.m.
