A single car accident on Collard Valley Road just outside of Cedartown has sent four people to the hospital. Authorities on the scene said the injuries were not serious. According to police, a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a Floyd county tag left the roadway and drove through a ditch, side-swiping a fence, and eventually hitting a tree. The SUV was traveling westbound on Collard Valley Road just past Substation Road heading toward Cedartown. The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle on impact. The two children in the back seat and another adult woman in the front were reportedly wearing their safety belts. All four passengers were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
